What do I do if I think there may be additional unauthorized charges made after I reported my credit card lost or stolen?
Call your credit card company right away and report the additional unauthorized charges. Then, follow up in writing with a billing error notice.
If your credit card was lost or stolen, review your billing statements carefully. If they show any unauthorized charges, it is best to call and write a letter to the card company right away. Include the following information:
- Your name
- Your account number
- When you noticed your card was missing
- The date and time you first reported the loss to the card issuer
- Each unauthorized charge appearing on the statement by date, type, and amount
