Description

Do I pay interest on new purchases after I get a zero or low rate balance transfer?

For most credit cards, if you carry a balance month to month, any purchases you make will accrue interest from the date of the transaction. This is true even if another balance you are carrying is not subject to interest because it was a 0% balance transfer.

If you usually take advantage of a grace period on purchases by paying your outstanding balance off in full each month, you will be charged interest on purchases unless you pay the entire balance off in full by the due date (including the transferred balance).
