Description

Why did my credit card issuer increase my late payment fee?

The first time you are late, the credit card company can charge you a fee of up to $28.

If you are late a second time within the next six billing cycles (typically a billing cycle is a month), the card company generally can charge you up to $39. However, the late fee can never be more than the minimum amount due.
